TSN's "Off The Record" Special on Mental Health Awareness focus on John Wood


On the anniversary of John Wood's passing, his life, legacy and battle with depression was the focus of a #BellLetsTalk** special on Mental Health Awareness which aired on TSN's "Off The Record" hosted by Michael Landsberg on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.




The episode included photos from John's family album and his 1976 Olympic Silver Medal win, clips from the film PADDLES UP!, interviews with daughter Jenny and son Al, and comments by business associate Laurie Davis and paddling colleagues Larry Cain, Adam van Koeverden and Wolf Ruck.

**Canadians participated in the fourth annual Bell “Let’s Talk” day to raise awareness around mental health issues. On Tuesday, January 28th, 2014, Bell Canada donated five cents for mental health initiatives for every tweet using the #BellLetsTalk hashtag and Facebook shares of Bell “Let’s Talk” image. By around noon, more than 20 million tweets and Facebook shares from everyday Canadians to famous musicians, high-profile athletes and politicians, popped up on social media sites.
